The 1.2 acre Papa property was acquired from Nicholas Papa in July 1983. The property is located on Washington Avenue, bounded by the Best Western Hotel, the entrance to Interstate 91, and the railroad. Although the property does not have some of the more desirable features to attract wildlife, it serves some important benefits to the area. The property provides a natural buffer between highway traffic and the commercial hotel property, it also serves as a buffer for the New York, New Haven, and the Hartford Railroad line to its west.
