The 3.7 acre Humphrey property is the oldest acquisition held by the North Haven Land Trust, having been acquired from the Humphrey Chemical Company in November 1974. The property is located on Devine Street alongside the Route 40 connector, adjacent to the Pfizer Company property and the Quinnipiac River with Interstate 91 overlooking the site. Access to the property is by canoe or kayak from the Quinnipiac River or can be viewed from the blue trail at Brickyard Point, a 57-acre restored habitat set aside for wildlife along the shore of the Quinnipiac River. The Land Trust agreed to an access easement allowing Pfizer to work on remediation and restoration efforts to their adjacent property. The Land Trust also granted a conservation easement to the Town of North Haven, assuring that no development will take place on our property.
